The Opening Session will highlight the recipients of the Academy's awards. The Titus-Ferguson Lifetime Achievement and the Distinguished Practitioner Awards will be showcased at this session. The Orthotic and Prosthetic Education and Research Foundation (OPERF) will present the new Carlton Fillauer Prize to a prosthetist who has actively engaged in clinical care, research, and publication.
The Titus-Ferguson Award
recognizes an O&P professional whose accomplishments and contributions have made a significant impact on the growth and development of the profession. The recipient of the Titus-Ferguson Award will offer a personal presentation providing a perspective on the O&P profession past, present, and future.
Carlton Fillauer Prize
The Orthotic and Prosthetic Education and Research Foundation (OPERF) will present the Carlton Fillauer Prize. This award, sponsored by the Fillauer Companies Inc., recognizes prosthetists who have actively engaged in clinical care, research, and publication. The $5,000 unrestricted cash prize will be presented biennially.

The Orthotic and Prosthetic Education and Research Foundation (OPERF) Showcase highlights research conducted with support from OPERF. Investigators, students, and residents will give an overview of their OPERF-sponsored research.
The Thranhardt Lectures are one of the most popular and anticipated events at the Academy Annual Meeting. Thranhardt Lecture finalists will present their research beginning at 8:00 am Thursday morning. The Thranhardt Lecture Honorarium was established by Hanger, Inc. in memory of Howard R. Thranhardt, CP. The Thranhardt Lectures highlight clinical findings, research, statistical analysis, and results.
Free Papers offer solutions to common problems, patient and practice management techniques, innovative uses of technology, or current research findings. Free Paper content is unbiased and, as much as possible, based on evidence.
Poster Presentations will be on display during the entire meeting. Authors will have the opportunity to showcase their posters at a Poster Presentation session.
Poster presentation submission deadline is September 27, 2013.
