Annual Meeting Opening Session
Now on Wednesday Evening!
The 2013 Academy Annual Meeting Opening Session will be held on Wednesday, February 20, at 5:30 pm, followed immediately by the Welcome Reception in the Exhibit Hall at 6:45 pm. This new format is designed to enhance the Opening Session experience.

The Opening Session will highlight the recipients of the Academy’s awards. The Titus-Ferguson Lifetime Achievement and the Distinguished Practitioner Awards will be showcased at this session. The Orthotic and Prosthetic Education and Research Foundation (OPERF) will present the Tamarack Award to a distinguished O&P researcher.
The Titus-Ferguson Award recognizes an O&P professional whose accomplishments and contributions have made a significant impact on the growth and development of the profession. The recipient of the Titus-Ferguson Award will offer a personal presentation providing their perspective on the O&P profession past, present, and future.
Welcome Reception
Wednesday, February 20, 6:45-8:15 pm
The Opening Session will lead directly into cocktails and hors d’oeuvres at the Welcome Reception in the Exhibit Hall. Enjoy this opportunity to relax and unwind as you explore the Exhibit Hall to view the latest O&P devices and technology. It is a networking opportunity you don’t want to miss!

The Orthotic and Prosthetic Education and Research Foundation (OPERF) Showcase highlights research conducted with support from OPERF. Investigators, students, and residents will give an overview of their OPERF-sponsored research.
Thranhardt Lectures
The Thranhardt Lectures are one of the most popular and anticipated events at the Academy Annual Meeting. Thranhardt Lecture finalists will present their research beginning at 8:00 am Thursday morning. The Thranhardt Lecture Honorarium was established by Hanger, Inc. in memory of Howard R. Thranhardt, CP. The Thranhardt Lectures highlight clinical findings, research, statistical analysis, and results.
Free Papers
Free Papers offer solutions to common problems, patient and practice management techniques, innovative uses of technology, or current research findings. Free Paper content is unbiased and, as much as possible, based on evidence.
Poster Presentations
Poster Presentations will be on display during the entire meeting. Authors will have the opportunity to showcase their posters at a Poster Presentation session.
Pedorthic Programming
The Academy will offer a full day of programming for pedorthists and others interested in learning more about pedorthics.
