Clinical Techniques

$35 Fee to participate

A hands-on education experience highlighting real-world clinical cases and demonstrating best practices in O&P. Each program imparts tangible knowledge that can instantly be implemented in your practice. The limited class size of 40 attendees maximizes the learning opportunity for each participant. These sessions require advance registration and an additional $35 fee for each.

Advanced Material Fabrication Techniques: Use of Pre-Preg, Laminated Carbon and Other Materials

This discussion of advanced composite materials used in orthotics and prosthetics will include appropriate clinical applications, various fabrication techniques and methods. Pre-preg systems, resin infusion and wet lay-up techniques will be explained. Various curing methods including the use of autoclaves, curing ovens and room temperature methods will be reviewed. Emphasis will be on the appropriate clinical use of these new materials.

The Charcot Foot - Understand It and Manage it from the Ground Up

The Charcot Foot is one of the highest risk and most challenging conditions we deal with in our practices. This workshop will explore the process and risks of the Charcot foot deformity. We will also review/demonstrate the most recent techniques, materials and products to enhance Pedorthic Care.

Transfemoral Impression and Measurement Techniques

This workshop will focus on four, state of the art impression techniques to create a Total Surface Bearing, Ischial Containment, negative model for a Transfemoral patient. Each participant will receive an interactive demonstration with the ability to participate in the Hands-On application of these techniques.
