Citizens of countries participating in the Visa Waiver Program (VWP) do not need a U.S. visa for business or tourism visits of less than 90 days, but must have a machine-readable passport. Visa Types for Temporary Visitors There are several types of visas for temporary visitors to the U.S. The type of visa needed is defined by immigration law, and relates to the purpose of your travel.
