Free Paper Quality on the Rise
Short presentations about 10 minutes in length based on Observations or anecdotal information.
An increased focus will be placed on the national and international Free Paper abstract submissions. The Academy has been nurturing the quality and content of these presentations over the last several years to great success.

The distance foot has unique alignment considerations and fitting obstacles which allows amputees to participate in distance events. The biomechanical principles of transtibial running gait and how to incorporate it into a prosthetic design will be demonstrated. |

The Marlo Anatomical Socket for transfemoral amputees can be applied successfully to enhance the design of hip disarticulation prostheses. Techniques as well as features of this two-piece socket will be demonstrated. |

This is an on going evaluation that reveals that a magnetorheologic microprocessor swing and stance controlled knee system provides benefits of enhancing stability for the bilateral transfemoral and hemipelvectomy user during activities of daily living. |
