The American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists, Alexandria, VA, is an individual membership organization that is dedicated to promoting professionalism and advancing the standards of patient care in orthotics and prosthetics through education, literature, research, advocacy and collaboration. The Academy has more than 2,700 members made up of ABC-certified practitioners, registered technicians, fitters and assistants as well as orthotic and prosthetic students, residents and other allied health professionals.
